I looked at the Maughold Parish register and the Ramsey parish record, no record of a bur for John Kaneen in Ramsey between 1880 and 1883. There is also no listing on Brian Lawson's bur index for a John Kaneen circa 1882. Are you sure he died in Ramsey.
No john found in Uk census in whitehaven.
