I am trying to find info on William garrett born 1748 to John Garrett and Catherine Clark. I believe he could be my ancestor who first appears in Canada in the 29th regiment of foot in 1777, although he was not with the regiment when it first left England. I know that pressgangs were active at that time on isle of Man. I cannot find any record of this William being married or diying on IOM. Any info greatly appreciated
