I am trying to locate info regarding the Neill or MacNeill family, specifically John Reese Neill, who, according to his gravestone, was born on the Isle of Man in 1740 and died in 1829. The Neills moved to Pennsylvania, USA and lived in Neillsburg; some, including my grandfather, Clyde Hamlin Neill, ultimately settled in West Virginia.

According to another gravestone in the cemetery, there is a William Neill, d. 17 Feb 1841, at the age of 68. I believe he may have been John's son.

Apparently John had a son, also named John, who married Ellen Gillfillan. Ellen's West Virginia death certificate indicates her parents, James and Jane, were from "Scotland;" however it may have actually been Man.
