Thanks for your efforts, Donna. I wasn't expecting Eleanor Jane, although 'my' Jane seems to have a daughter of that name. As suspected, I must have got the wrong Edward's burial date, picked again as the only likely one in Brian's index.

I'm pretty certain Jane Catherine Cottier is the one I'm looking for unless all my ideas are based on a false assumption somewhere. This is the family I've got so far - can't find Edward in 1901 which is why I thought the 1894 burial was him:

Have I gone horribly wrong somewhere and just can't see it? Am I putting too much significance on the Catherine/Eleanor difference? If not, I wonder when & where they are buried? Edward d.1894 has a Will, I see - has anyone read it?
