Hi Karen
Thank you for providing that information. And now I have a confession to make----a very kind lady lent me her copy of the book for a few days, and I meant to post a message here for you, but it completely slipped my mind. Sorry to have given you an extra thing to do when you're so busy.
The Kellys of Ballavitchel were a fascinating family, weren't they ? And now I see what you meant by Margaret Kelly b 1807 being "the reluctant bride", having to be tied onto the horse to be delivered to her husband-to-be.
I'd been hoping to find a reference to a Jane Kelly b circa 1748 marrying a Robert Gelling b1744 of Ballamillaghyn in Braddan in 1770, but no such luck. It would have been nice to have had a link to the Ballavitchal Kellys.
