For some years now i have been trying to find info on alice cowley & william clarke without much luck but i think i might have made a breakthrough and would like someone elses opinion
would someone please take the time to look at what info i already have

1.From Manx Notebook They married in k/michael 23/06/1799
witnesses WILLIAM CALLOW Mariner & CHARLES COSTAIN Shoemaker
That would put her possible DOB 1778

2. 1851 Alice Clarke is living in Peel age 75
possible DOB 1776

3.IGI has various entries: Alice Cowley born about 1782 K/M or 1784 Patrick, spouse William Clarke
but this can't be right as she would have only been age 17 or 19 and the marriage entry has no reference to parental consent

4.On Brians burial index Alice Clarke 23/11/1852 age 78 puts her DOB 1774

I went back to IGI and found Alice Cowley born Ballaugh 1774 to John Cowley and Margaret Cottiman I checked out their other children one of whom was Esther Cowley and then to my surprise I found a marriage entry for Esther Cowley to WILLIAM CALLOW in 1797
Looking at the all the other marriage entries in Manx Notebook these two witnesses only appear on that day so they are not your regular witnesses
Which leads me to think that William Callow must have been Alices Brother in Law

Please can anyone give me their opinion
