Looking for the burial of the John Cannell b circa 1800 who was a coroner. I'm wondering if this could be the right one:
CANNELL, John 66 Bra 22 Feb 1866
in which case, this could be his will:
CANNELL, John 1866 Dgs A 22 0106268
I've found various snippets about him in Manx Notebook, and I've found him, unmarried, in the 1851 and 1861 censuses living at St Barnabas Square, Douglas. In 51 he's a 50 year old house proprietor b Marown, and in 61 he's a 58 year old coroner b Marown. I can't find him in 1871 or 1881.
I've recently been sent a copy of the marriage details of James Kewley to Cecilia Cannell in 1856 Braddan. Cecilia's father is John Cannell, occupation coroner. She was the illegitimate daughter of John Cannell and Elizabeth Cain. It now seems likely that Cecilia was left comfortably provided for in her widowhood partly from her father's estate, so finding his will would be useful. Her husband, James Kewley, was a tailor, son of a John Kewley, labourer.
Donna, I'd be very grateful if you'd look for an MI for John Cannell.
