The reason not a lot to see at the old Tynwald site is that the place with the ring of stones is not the actual site, just a commemorative cairn. The actual site used to stand on the opposite (east) side of the road itself, which was a lot wider, with a strip of uncultivated land. The real site was taken into the adjoining farm around 1850 and a new boundary built on the present line. If you go north on the Bayr ny Ree, however, the road diverts around something else??? which stands directly on the line of the road.
