The William Corkill (Dick) who died of smallpox in Maughold on Mar 10 1823 is unlikely to be the one you are looking for. The "Dick" after his name shows that he was from one of the Ballajora branches, where several generations had this nickname attached to their names - all farming in Maughold. There was a William in this family b.1790, son of John (Juan Dick), but I don't know anything about him, or whether he was the one d.1823 - sorry.
The will would probably tell you!
