Yes it was definitely Cowx his g gfather was John Cowx of Cumberland married Jane Christian of Ballaugh in 1810
I believe there was a murder involving a Cowx in Douglas is this what you are referring to Frances? If so where in manxnotebook do I look I've failed so far
