One of my possible ancestors, name of John Kennedy, born in 1808 is described in the 1841 census as a Chelsea Pensioner. Since he was born in Ireland, why has he settled in the Isle of Man and why was he given a pension. Had he seen active service and if so where was this likley to have been? Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks
