I too am researching the Moor family from the IOM. The family originated from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. George Moor was a cabinet maker and upholsterer. his second born son was Henry Watson Moor. In and from the1871 census, an (e) was added to the name by the census taker, so some Moors are spelled Moore- which is incorrect. Henry Watson Moor was a famous phoographer and artist in the IOM in
the 1870 and 80's his paintings are still being sold.

I doubt this is the connection you are looking for -but you never know!
