Excellent. I had many of the same questions, so a few more holes are filled.
Jean, is the 1833 will of John Gelling transcribed somewhere? I can't seem to find it.
I'm wondering too if any of the sons of John Gelling and Elizabeth Oates of Ballamillaghyn married, other than the last one (Philip). The eldest John was 37 and Edward was also 37, so perhaps they had families? That couple had 9 children and 8 of them died in their 20s and 30s, well before their parents. Only Philip survived to inherit Ballamillaghyn. The only daughter Elizabeth married Thomas Craine, had son Thomas and then died. That Thomas became quite prominent, as a member of the House of Keys, Captain of Ballaugh and Lay Preacher for the Wesleyan Church. He eventually moved to Camberwell Essex.
