The request for Administration of the Estate of Martin Kenyon Junior which was probated in 1860 at Ramsey, indicates that “….about twenty years ago your Petitioner’s son Martin Kenyon was a sailor onboard the schooner Leger(?) of Ramsey which vessel and crew were lost at sea including your petitioner's said son…”.
Two questions; is anyone aware of the correct spelling/name of this schooner, and does anyone have any information regarding where and when the crew and vessel were lost?
Martin Kenyon Junior was christened in 1811 at Lezayre, the s/o Martin Kenyon and Margaret Clague, and his death would have been circ 1840, according to the Will particulars.
Thank you for any suggestions.
