Hello Kevin,
I have only just got your answer to the messages on this thread which you sent by email to a generic address. If you "Post Response" to a message on this BB it will show up on the board for people to answer, if they can.
I'll copy your message following this, and hope that someone can give you suggestions. My only suggestion is to get all the Australian certificates for your grandfather that you can (his marriage, death, and children's births) if you haven't already got them, because one of them might give an address for his parents.
Do you know where his father died?
Sue

Hello sue.
Sorry for late reply.
Charles was reported born in Iom by his son, my grandfather. He applied for employment in 1880 to the SAust. Govt railways. On the form he states he was born in listowel IRE and his father was born in IOM, but he gave no dates. We believe Henry was born about 1838--1844 and Charles about 1800 .?.
My aunt Kathleen Morton went to ire in 1965 and reported finding IOM family connections.
However she died shortly after returning and her papers were destroyed by my uncle when he thought nobody would be interested... I Have been trying to find the pieces of that family, but without much success. I have found a connection to the Fitzgerald and Fitzmaurice families of IRE. I believe that Elizabeth Fitzgerald is Charles wife my grandmother. there are records that I have found of a court case by Henry to claim the Fitzgerald title, he lost and came to Aus.. In 1886 Elizabeth came to Aus for the Wedding of Henry Morton and Ellen Doubtfire, Elizabeth was the witness, she stayed for the birth of henrys daughter Ellen and was the witness again at the birth, the she left Aus on the ship Hebe bound for London .
Its a large story but finding facts that can be identified is proving very hard.
Hope you can help.
