Many thanks for your thoughts about my William Hughes. I can only find him in 1851 and 1871 IOM census then 1891 and 1901 England census. Are there any books about Malew in 1850 onwards in the Village of Ballasala , as I am interested in the social , living and financial conditions. I expect my ggg grandfather was an orphan and am wanting to find out more about his young life there. Any recommendations? Thanks again, Ann Tallant
