Brian ... I would like to thank you so much for your help on my Master Marners from the IOM .. Thomas and William Corrin. From the information you posted on this site in a response to my help, and the documents I received in the post from you, I have today managed to tie a lot of it together. So thank you so much for your help, it has been invauable, to a novice such as myself.
In this posting I would also like to thank others who have helped me search out William Henry Corrin .. who is William Corrins son .. we have had no joys in finding a birth for him on IOM (all his siblings were born on IOM.. to Annie & William). I am going to Liverpool Records Office in October half-term (a little holiday to Livepool) and hopefully I will be able to track him down to being there .. as his father William did his Master's Certificate in Liverpool in 1881, perhaps we can locate him being born there.. otherwise we are down to "imagining" where he might have come from (probably a relative).
Thank you to everyone who helps on this site .. it is great and I really appreciate all the help that is so freely offered.
Regards ...... Barbara
