Thanks for this great detective work and if I am following this thread correctly, is this illegitimate James Callow, son of James and Margaret (Cannell) the James that marries Jane Quine? If so it fills that gap and allows me to follow up my maternal connection to IOM Callow's.

However, I don't know that this throws any light on whether the son James, that James & Jane (Quine) have in 1824?, is my James Callow who married Ann Jackson in 1842 at "full age" (presumably 21+?) as he would only have been 18 in 1842 and Ann was 8 years his senior.
