Re: callow family
In Response To: Re: callow family ()

I think I may be related through the James b1824?, although we hadn't found his details as we were looking for someone older. Could you help with any more particulars to help with confirmation.
My James (?b1824) married Ann Jackson in Whitehaven, 5June1845 and her dob is c1816, Egremont, Whitehaven based on 1851 census records. where she is recorded as 'head of household, living with her 9yo son John (my gg grandfather), daughters Margaret 6, Ann 2.
If this is the James b1824 it would make him 8 years younger than Ann as their marriage certificate only lists them as "full age". The father James (m to Jane Quine?) is identified as a weaver, and the witness is William Callow (James' brother?). We have a 24/4/1868 death certificate of James Callow aged 83 (dob c1787), died Union Workhouse Preston Qtr, Whitehaven, "former seaman, merchant service". Hope this is some help.
