the film is not of 'the actual register' but the 1911 transcription thereof - the actual register is desparately in need of conservation and in places is already much less readable than it was in 1911. However my own checking of several real registers against 1911 is that the 1911 is extremely accurate (99.99%) - however it is often mistranscribed in the IGI eg many baptisms in Bride for years c 1816 are out by a year as the 1911 copied the page headings but the entries (in date sequence of reception not necessarily baptism) straddle the year boundary without indicating the actual year. (similar misreads occur in several other parishes both for baptisms and deaths - the 1752 change of year start from Mar 25 to Jan 1 makes for numerous errors - the funniest I've seen is the IoMfhs transcription for Patrick where the first entry states explicitly 1st burial in the yard but they transcribed it out by a year.
