Re: Richard Parr DD - Bishop
In Response To: Richard Parr DD - Bishop ()

David Craine in his book Manannan's Isle (1955) writes about several Parrs:

'Thomas Parr, Vicar of Kirk Malew for half a century', who in 1650 wrote about witchcraft. He was Vicar from 1641 to 1691. He later became Vicar-General.

There was also a Vicar-General Robert Parr mentioned: 1640s through to the 1680s.

There was a Charles Parr, Vicar-General and Rector of Ballaugh in the 1670s.

And there was a Deemster John Parr in 1708.

Seems to have been a powerful family, assuming they are related to each other!
