Re: Mylrea
In Response To: Mylrea ()

Now to try to answer Marshall's original question:

"Does anyone know who the parents were of William Mylrea born about 1827? He was a Methodist Minister and married to Mary Mylrea born in 1826 in Andreas"

IGI does not have a wonderful match for William Mylrea's parents. It has a Mary Christened in Michael:

4. MARY MYLREA - International Genealogical Index Christening: 05 JUN 1825 Kirk Michael, Isle Of Man, England
. . . but she might not be the one because of location. Why does Marshall think she was born in Andreas?

If William's father was a Thomas then there are 2 possibilities of the right age across the pond:

IGI Individual Record THOMAS MYLREA
Birth: 01 MAY 1790
Christening: 30 MAY 1790 St Nicholas, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Parents: THOMAS MYLREA EUNICE
Extracted birth or christening record for the locality listed in the record.

IGI Individual Record THOMAS MYLREA
Birth: 04 MAR 1786
Christening: 16 JUL 1786 St Nicholas, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Parents: THOMAS MYLREA CATHARINE
Extracted birth or christening record for the locality listed in the record.

We also have Wm & Mary's marriage record:
IGI Individual Record WILLIAM MYLREA MARY MYLREA
Marriage: 11 JUL 1850 Kirk Michael, Isle Of Man, England
Extracted marriage record for locality listed in the record.

Why do we think William's father was Thomas? Perhaps that's where I've gone off the rails!
