Re: Thomas BANNAN
In Response To: Re: Thomas BANNAN ()

Hi Christine,

Those parents have also been given by other researchers for the Ann Jane Radcliffe who married Robert Bannan, but if you look at all the records she looks like the other Ann Jane Radcliffe who was b.1839. It is possible that one researcher recorded the other parents, and the others followed.

Have a look at this and see if you agree that this was the correct family:
John Radcliffe bapt 6 July 1817 was the son of John Radcliffe 1790-1863, of Ballavastyn, Andreas, and Elizabeth KNEALE.

In the 1861 Andreas census, at Ballavastin, were John Radcliffe Snr aged 73, farmer, with wife Elizabeth 77 and grandson William 12. Also in Ballavastin were John Radcliffe Jnr, wife Catherine and family, including Sarah A Bannan Granddaughter aged 2, b. Andreas. She was bapt 30 Oct 1858 as Sarah, illegitimate daur of Ann Radcliffe. Ann Radcliffe & Robert Bannan married 21 July 1860. Sarah Ann Bannan was buried in Andreas on 14 Dec 1864, aged 5 years.
