Hi all
We have just got the deeds to our house here in Norfolk, England. Imagine my astonishment to find that previous registered owners of the land on which our house is built, were Greens Nurseries - registered office 10-12 George St. Douglas, Isle of Man!
I have looked in Manx Notebook and on Google, but can't find anything - does anybody out there know anything at all about them? The ownership lasted certainly through the 1940s up to around early 70s. I have particluar names of course, but probably better not to post them here.
I wondered if maybe it was a tax thing, having an office reg'd on the island, as all the names in the deeds were resident here in Norfolk?
I'm just interested, because of all the places in the world, I can't believe this house has a link to the IoM - besides me of course!
Maggie
