Re: MI Braddan Lookup
In Response To: Re: MI Braddan Lookup ()

Hi Bill
John Quine Shoemaker Strand Street is definately related to me
John Cowley father of Mary Elizabeth was the brother of Thomas Cowley born Marown 1831
he married Margaret Ann Cowley born K/Michael 1835
Their daughter Catherine Isabella is my Great Grandmother

Now their sister Mary Ann Cowley married John Kinley in 1875(he died)

She then married Robert Quine 31/1/1875
I think he was born abt 1843 in Lonan
In the 1881 census they were living at Cronk Moar he was a lead miner
They had two children William Thomas born 1876 and Eliza Isabella born abt 1878 both born Lonan
I know this to be correct as the children are mentioned in their Grandfather Thomas Cowley's Will of 1898

After Roberts death she married Robert Collister Blacksmith in 1883

In 1901 Census Living North Baldrine (the house was left to her in the will)
Robert Collister age 46 Blacksmith
Mary Ann Collister age 55
Eliza Quine age 23 Dressmaker own acc at home
Mary Ann Collister age 21 (Roberts daughter)

There is a William T Quine living in Bispham near Blackpool Lancashire Tramdriver born Isle of Man 1878
I feel sure this is the same one coincidentally Bispham is only about 3-4 miles from where I live now

I would like more details on this Robert Quine family if you have any
I have also looked at the threads of Katrina Adamson and they are the same family as mine
I have also sent a message to her through genes reunited but have not yet had a response
Thanks for your response
Lesley
