Is there some kind reader of this board who can tell me anything about a Captain Edward CHRISTIAN, of the P&O steamship "Shanghai", arriving Gravesend from Calcutta on Jan 12 1852. In 1853, he commanded the ss Formosa, making many sailings between India and Australia. In 1857, he is seen sailing between Southampton and Gibraltar aboard the P&O steamship 'Tagus". I have no knowledge of his date or place of birth, either on or off the Island.
