I have to say thank you for all this infomation.
I think I need to write everything down on a piece of paper to assess exactly what I have and then make notes of what I need to do to prove/progress.
I have found Robert SPROSYSTON in the 1871 census with Robert working and living as a Farm Servant at Ballavitchell Farm
Then 1881 Census in Whitehaven as a Coal Miner as SPRUSTEN
1891 Census in Whitehaven as a Coal Miner as SPURSTON
1901 Census in Whitehaven as SPARTON
I have the Death record and burial records (seen the grave) , died 23/8/1904 Whitehaven, occupation Pit Joiner.
I will progress what I have and put together all the bits that you have all contributed and then reassess the way forward.
I hope to visit the Isle of Man in the next month or two and will have a list prepared of what I need to look for, places to visit etc.
Mike
