I recall a petition by Mec Vannin about fixing the date to always fall on the 5th and checking that the law only forbade it falling on a Sunday - must be age but I can't recall what happened on the Queen's visit in 2003 in which 5 jul also fell on Saturday - I recall being there! Unfortuneately personal commitments in the UK have mean it looks unlikely I'll be there this year.
