That explanation would indeed fit now in this era but
not 1941----no cremation available in IOM & highly
unlikely for a body to be transported to Liverpool under
WW2 conditions . Although previous to DB crematorium
opening a VERY few persons chose this option . I suspect it was as rare as choosing to be buried at sea.
You needed to be wealthy.
