Re: Margaret Christian 1857
In Response To: Margaret Christian 1857 ()

Hi Raymond,

Here's everything I have in my database regarding this family. I have marked Margaret's death in Cumberland as a dispute, because Henry was later found in Arbroath and later still in BC married to a Margaret. It's possible he was married to two different Margarets:

Henry was a member of Peel Lifeboat. From Mona Christain: "he was a lifeboatman and one of those who were involved in the rescue of those on the George - all the crew members were awarded a Bible and a medal by the governor."

Henry's residences:
Backgreen no. 5, Peel, (1871); Vessel "Wave" no. 69 (1871); 25 Church Street, Ramsey (1881); Vessel "Wave" (1881); 26 Market Street, Peel (1891); St. Vigeans, Arbroath, Angus, Scotland (1901); Nanaimo, British Columbia (1911)

Margaret born in Burntisland, Forfarshire, Scotland, daughter of Charles Christian
Death: 1898 06 quarter - (disputed) Whitehaven, Cumbria, England

I found a Henry married to a Margaret that matches him in the 1901 Scotland Census. Problems is that this doesn't match the death date of the Margaret I found in 1898. Could have been a different Marg who died in 1898 or Henry remarried to another margt
