Hi Len, my John (b 1823) had an older brother called James b 1819, so I don't think that the John Mylrea you refer to is the right one. BUT, I have found the correct family I think in the 1841 Census with the spelling MYBREA - most of the girls are not listed so I'm wondering if they simply married very early. The family comes from Ballacurry though. I'm going to explore the Census data more -so far I have found 13 different spellings of Mylrea even though the original document clearly says "Mylrea".
