Thanks, Tom.
I'm struggling to disentangle all the Richard Clagues in Arbory in the 51, 61 and 71 censuses.
The Richard Clague who I'd thought might be my gg grandmother's brother ( buried Arbory 21 Jan 1867 age 48 ) lived at Bemeccan / Bymacan. My map shows this (the Old Friary, from Frances's Manx Notebook ) to be between two roads which are named on the censuses as Colby Road and Malew Road.
There are Richard Clagues living on both these roads, with no mention of names of actual properties, so I don't know yet, until I've had time to study it, which Richard lived at Bemeccan. Having established that, I'll then look to see if the same Richard was there in 1851, in which case he's not my guy, as my Richard was living with his parents and sisters at Arragon Mooar, Santon in the 1851 census.
