Hi Brian. I went back to the archives of this Board to look at some of my old postings. Since I only remember to go to the Board at least every 6 months or so, I'm being reminded of some of the old responses.
Almost 2 yrs. ago, some helpful researchers offered the 1841:
In Response To: 1841 Census Look-up, CORKILL (Betty)
1841
June 7th
parish: Maughold
town of: Ramsey
College Street
(all born Isle of Man)
Esther CORKILL - head, 35, widow
John - 15
William - 15
Ewan - 14
Margaret - 10
Robert - 9
Anne - 6
Lewis - 4
Catherine - 1
Taking information from your web site, you have John CORKILL, bap. 1798, and son of John CORKILL and Jane KINREAD. And, people have told me in the past that John CORKILL married Esther CORKILL (maiden name) in the Lezayre Parish in 1822.
Summarizing the above information, John and Esther had: John, b1826, William, b1826, Ewan/Evan, b1827, Margaret, b1831, Robert, b1832, Anne, b1835, Lewis, b1837, Catherine, b1839. (guesses on years)
I was told a while ago that they had 10 children. Perhaps there were older children not mentioned in the census.
In the 1851 census provided, Ann and Lewis were listed as both 16, so one of the census reports is incorrect.
(I heard from someone last year who thought he or she might be descended from Margaret.
I just posted information on the son, John, on the Liverpool List (and my new CORKILL List).
Besides John and my ancestor, Evan, I don't know about the other children.
I'm told that Evan shows up as Ewan on several, different records.

P.S. As far as the 1820's to 1840's goes, what is the difference between Lezayre Parish and Maughold Parish. And, what exactly is Ramsey.
I'd like to refer to these terms correctly.
