Sandra.....thank you for your information. Pardon my ignorance, but where is "Bromfield Cumberland and Holme Cultram Cumberland? Is this in Pennsylvania, or Isle of Man, or Scotland? Another response I've received indicated that the ancestor I'm looking for probably did not come from the Isle of Man, but perhaps Scotland. This is quite possible, since the living relative I spoke with only suggested that he may have come from the Isle of Man.
