I'm wondering if occupations were different from one census to the next or if I'm on the wrong track here.
I found a John Callister, 60, Peel, at Green (street?) 1861 listed as Blacksmith with son William, 22, mariner. Then again John Callister, 70, at Green, Blacksmith in 1871.
I have a marriage registries copy of William Callister and Christian Mylchreest June 6, 1865 that lists William's father John Callister as a mariner.
