CORKILL, KINREAD

Hello. I tried to post a query last week, and my message was denied "because of unpleasant language." I believe the computer misunderstood some of the surnames I was discussing. I was offering several different variations of the CORKILL name. I can't repeat them - because my message will be denied again.

I was writing last week to say that I have started up a new Mailing List for the CORKILL surname at www.rootsweb.com

I know there are 2 Message Boards for the name, including one at www.genforum.com which are hardly used.

I've posted about my ancestors before. My line appears to be:

John CORKILL and Jane KINREAD from Ramsey, who seem to have had 9 children.

From their son, John CORKILL, who married Esther CORKILL (maiden name), in 1822, and they had 10 children.

From their son, Evan CORKILL, b1827, who was a Master Mariner. He married in Liverpool in 1852 to Elizabeth QUAYLE, who had been born in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England. They had 7 children; 6 lived to adulthood and all were "shipped to Canada" as children.

From their daughter, Mary Elizabeth CORKIL, b1860 Liverpool, England, who went to Nova Scotia in 1875.

(I have some information on Evan's older brother, John CORKILL, who also married a woman from Cumberland, England.)

(I have some information on Mary's older brother, Edward CORKILL, who lived his adult life in British Columbia, Canada.)

I just checked and I see the KINREAD name is not mentioned very often. But, I seem to remember it was discussed several years ago - but I don't remember where.
