Whilst reading John Quirk's excellent book I came acros a section about Katherine Short and her family. I believe Mary Cain her grandmother is possibly my great grandmother and I actually live in the house where she and my great grandfather(Pemberton) lived in Foxdale. If anyone has any more information on their families I would be most grateful.
