John Wade, Joney's son, was buried 13 Jan 1824, of Conk-y-cree Andreas.
"Knock" was sometimes alternated with "Cronk" in Andreas place names for the same place.
Knock y Chree belonged to the Cowle family, and was earlier recorded as "Greg a
Cree".
"The 1761 Lib Assed has John Cowle at Creg a Cree paying 7s 11d rent in the
Quarterland of Ballakinnag and Treen of Ballasteere. DSD's notes confirm
this identification. He gives a later reference to Cowles at Knock a Cree.
Knock and Cronk are effectively the same word. This property is in the
Smeale Quarter of the parish." [Nigel Crowe & DS Dugdale]
