Lewin/ Lewne/ Looney

Hi Becky, I am also researching LEWIN’s. Some time ago I read an article, probably in Frances’s Note Book. It was reference a court case and each of one of this family had their name spelled differently. Something like, Mother was a Lewin, son was a Lewn and Father was a Lewine. In my family, one of the census recorded them as Lewine’s. I wish I had kept a copy of it now., maybe Frances will remember where it is, if and when she reads this. So I would say until you can prove other wise, keep them in mind. The Looney are, I believe are a different family altogether, as is Lewney.
I have Lewin’s in Onchan, Braddan, Ballagawne to mention a few places.
There is an extensive tree in the library at Derby Road submitted by Margaret Mars, most of hers are Lewine and are in Abbeylands.
Priscilla has also done my line, the blacksmiths at Ballagawne., also at library.
Happy hunting and stay in touch eh ?
