Re: Moore / Christian / Gell / Kinrade / Lewin etc

Firstly, can I thank you for your amazing website, which has helped me so much in getting to where I am research wise!

Right... Kinrade:

The first Kinrade I have in my tree is Sarah, who was born c 1815 on the Isle of Man. She married James Lewin, a mariner according to the 1851 census where she is listed in Liverpool as a "mariners wife and dressmaker".

the most probable marriage is this:

From the BVRI 2 discs
James and Sarah LEWIN, James Marriage Wife: Sarah KINRADE Marriage Date: 29 Oct 1840 Recorded in: Liverpool, Lancashire, England Collection: Church Street, St Peter Husband's Father: John LEWIN Wife's Father: John KINRADE Source: FHL Film 1068927 Dates: 1840 - 1841

In 1841 census they are in Onchan, either living, or staying with James Lewins sisters, Elinor and Cath Lewin. I couldn't read the address on the digitized census.

from the IGI I have identified possible parentage of Sarah as being John Kinrade and Elinor Hamilton, who married 16 Jun 1811 in Braddan.

Other children of theres appear to be:

Margaret Jane Kinrade christened 25 DEC 1812 Saint George, Douglas

John Kinrade christened 28 JAN 1821 Saint George, Douglas

Sarah's husband died before 1861, as did her father, as her mother is living with them in Liverpool in 1861:

1861 census
38 Cumbermere Street - Page 129b and 130 RG9/2700
Lewin, Sarah - Head - Widow - Age 46 - Dressmaker - born Isle of Man - Douglas
John (?) son age 17 Unmarried - Iron Moulder born Liverpool Lancashire
James son age 15 Unmarried - Ink (?) Maker - born Liverpool
Sarah Ellen Dau age 12 - Scholar born Liverpool
Margaret Ann Dau age 8 - Scholar born Liverpool
Sophia Jane Dau Age 6 - Scholar born Liverpool
Ellinor Kinrade Mother to Head - Widow - Age 71 - formerly House Servant - born Isle of Man
Roberts John Boarder Widow - Age 44 - Sawyer - born Hollywell, N. Wales

So that's the Kinrade side of the problem, and the Lewin side, (with the exception of James' mother Elinor Banks' line) is causing similar headaches.

John Lewin married Elinor Banks 28 February 1796, but I have two possible dads for him, either Thomas Lewin, or John Lewin and Margaret Cottier.

Their children were (as far as I know):

Cath Lewin b 1797
Elinor Lewin b 1799
Jane Lewin b1801
John Lewin b 1803
Thomas Matthias Lewin b1804
William Lewin b 1804
James Lewin b 1811
Jane Margarett Lewin b1815 - d 1851

If anyone can help untangle this, or give any other information, that would be great :)
