Hi,
I have been reading a newly released book by Yolanda Reynolds on Walhalla,Victoria, Australia "Walhalla, Graveyard to Cemetery".
There is no separate entry for Isle of Man but a few names are starting to jump out at me, such as Callow and Scarffe.
William Callow 1823-1891 is mentioned on a number of pages as taking on the duties of 'undertaker'. In an article from an 1888 publication it says that William Callow born in the Isle of Man learned his trade of builder in Liverpool working for eight years before coming to Victoria. It later says he married Miss Corkill (Ellen) in 1879 and had one child. There is a bit more on what he built if it is needed.
Also our local paper printed a photo on the release of this book showing a well preserved grave of John Scarff, born Lenon, obviously Lonan, Isle of Man died 2 April 1885 aged 48 years.
Regards
Diane
