I don't know if you have this information but on www.lawsons.ca you will find the births of some of Andrew and Achsah's children.

PATERSON, Dorothea Gla 20 Mar 1886 Ram
PATERSON, Ethel Consta 30 Aug 1880 Ram
PATERSON, George Frede 21 Apr 1876 Ram
PATERSON, James Bertra 17 Jan 1878 Ram

In the 1881 census they are living at 39 Parliament Street Ramsey with 10 assistants and servants.

There is also Lilian Rose 7 daughter born Lancashire.
Ernest Livingstone 6 son born Lancashire.

and then:
George Frederick, James Bertram and Ethel.

Andrew doesn't seem to be there on census night.
