Brief summary of manx records - very different than UK
in 1911 all parish registers were transcribed - they were then used to provide official records as civil registration only started 1877/8 - this official copy was filmed by the mormons and the film may be borrowed at any Mormon FHC - it also provided the base for the Manx entries in the IGI thus if the IGI shows no father, it is fairly certain that none was shown in the parish register - there may be an addtional note (not transcribed in the IGI) but would be found in the official copy.
The actual parish registers are now mostly in the possession of the Manx Museum but you need a personal researcher to ask to see them (my own experience is that the official copy is 99.99% correct) so that should be your starting point.
Presentments were sent to the ecclesiatical cout - as this also dealt with wills then for many years a copy of the presentments may be found preceeding the wills for that year but by the early 19th century this system was starting to fall apart - all presentments were also bound together and they also are now in the Manx Museum and have been filmed but I don't think this film is available from mormon fhc as the originals were until recently housed in the diocesan library where the mormons did not film.
You may find reading Manxnotebook (family history useful) - have you the 1841c entry as this may show mother etc living with them .
