While you are looking at all Cains between those years I suggest you also look for all Catherines registered with single mothers - all surnames - not just Cain! The ones where no father was given. You know how illegitimate children in the IoM were often known later by the father's name even when he hadn't been named on the birth/bapt? Certainly worth a look for Catherine.
