Hope you'll be lucky - it's out of season and some places may be closed. I hear that The Claremont and the Chesterhouse have been taken over by an English group, been refurbished and are supposed to be very good. I've often stayed at the Hilton as they do a very good breakfast and the rooms are modern - a 20th century hotel rather than a converted Victorian B & B, but it can be noisy from the nightclub on the groundfloor. The Empress is large but professional and reasonably quiet. Finding somewhere for meals is something of a challenge out of season.
