Re: RAMSEY records and lack of indexes
In Response To: Re: MI ()

Hi Terrance,

Your photo had the deaths only as sometime before 1993, which could be too recent for the LDS films:
Death index Ramsey 1877-1964, Peel 1877-1964, Castletown 1877-1964, FHL BRITISH Film 454958 (see at any LDS Family History Centre)

- That's unless the dates referred only to Florence Beatrice Radcliffe "1910 to 1993"?
If so it is possible that Thomas Alfred died by 1964. You might have a long search through the death indexes to find them both.

I put a full list of available civil regt records on LDS films at:
http://www.isle-of-man.com/cgi-bin/interests/genealogy/bulletin/index.pl?noframes;read=515049
Please note that the ones with the most recent records are indexes, but the full cert is available on film to c.1900, depending on the area.

Frances Coakley has transcribed the Ballure Chapel burials 1761-1842 (see her website), but there are few transcripts for Ramsey St Pauls, or for later deaths registered in Ramsey.

If you feel like transcribing any of the Ramsey films, there will be a lot of very grateful people! - Especially deaths and burials, which are not included on Brian Lawson's index.
