hi lorraine thank you so much for that information, you are absolutly right about john yates, we always thought he was a member (well thats what me mum and dad told us) .
i found out that he was a scrap metal dealer from an email liz had from a lady who knew him very well she grew up with him.
she said a gentleman by the surname shimmin would know more about the yates,s family as he was a good friend of the family, but unfortunatly i dont know where he lives on the island. and the swindlehurst family. well he could be my dads uncle but dad died 4 years ago so i cant ask him. if i find anything out i will definatley let you know. how do you know about uncle john is he related? i do know he had a sister mona (probably named after her mother) . i dont even know when my grandad was born or his parents names he had to be born between 1900/20 so he could be robert,s brother. i know he had sisters (ann, alice) and he must have moved to liverpool after me dad was born because he was a fruit and veg seller, and me dad worked for him when he was younger.
well thank you again lorraine for your help and im sorry if this reads like a book lolol but it is like you said very confusing with all the same names

kind regards debbie
