Hi - I also use Hugh Wallis's website which is great, but to add to what Frances wrote, it has become increasingly frustrating as more and more "extracted" (transcribed from the parish registers) entries have been removed from the IGI and replaced by Church members' entries. This means that they can no longer be found by the batch numbers, and there is no way of knowing whether the replacement is correct or not. - Whether it is the same as an extracted entry, now removed, or whether it is an invention added to someone's tree to fill a gap.
