Hi Judy
Yes that is our George in the 1910 census.
He was born in Patrick, Isle of Man but they seemed to write "England" on the records those days, even on the ship's manifest.
His birth year was 1872/1873 depending on who is recording it! At the time of the 1st WW
Draft he would have been approx. 46yr old and I would have thought perhaps a bit old to be called up to serve at war. The fact that he doesn't seem to be in any census after that one, is odd. He may have been injured and not survived while working in the mine at White Pine, Nevada where he was living, but I can find no death record for him either. I contacted the County Clerk's Office in Carson City, who replied that he did not appear in that area on the voting register or the immigration records (which may mean naturalization). I didn't find him on the Social Security list in the IGI.
He arrived from the I.o.M to Philadelphia en route to the mines at Ishpeming, Michigan to join his brother John Corrin. Then on to Felch, Dickinson, then to White Pine, Nevada.
I understand that it was common for miners to work their way West then.
The trail seems to end in Nevada.
Regards,
Marjery
