Re: House Servant, and Eliezer Gilmore

Hi Tracey - My knowledge of David Gilmore and his father Robert (1781-1870) is because of my connection to David Gilmore's wife Mary Orr. Mary Orr's sister Elizabeth Orr (Babington), 1839-1880, was my Babington paternal great grandmother. The dates for Robert Gilmore, 1781-1870, I became aware of today because of an email I received today from an Orr related cousin, Ramsay Hall. Ramsay's email included a photo of the house Robert Gilmore built in Lisgar in 1823. Ramsay noted the dates for Robert Gilmore, Abt 1791-1870, in his email. I went back to check your messages at Ancestry and realized the dates you had for Robert were almost the same as Ramsay's, with exception of you having 1840 rather then 1870 for his death. By the way David Gilmore and Mary Orr had a large family, 15 children. I have been in email with some Blythe descendants of two daughters of this David Gilmore in Iowa, USA. I live in Washington, Connecticut, USA. My email is davewb07@sbcglobal.net I am glad I found you at the Manx site. Cousin Ramsay Hall's wife Sheila has Manx roots by the way.
